Nikon has announced the NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.2 S and NIKKOR Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S lenses for use with its mirrorless Z system cameras.
The Z 50mm f/1.2 S is the first f/1.2 prime lens in Nikon’s Z range and promises smooth bokeh and edge-to-edge sharpness.
Its f/1.2 aperture also promises strong low light performance and plenty of control over depth of field.
Inside its optical construction comprises 17 elements in 15 groups, of which two are ED glass elements and three are aspherical elements.
Nikon has also added its anti-reflective Nano Crystal Coat and ARNEO coatings to help combat ghosting and flare. Nikon has also weather-sealed the lens barrel and mount.
With a constant f/2.8 aperture the Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S promises strong performance in low light and sharpness from edge to edge.
Like the 50mm, Nikon has sealed all moving parts of the lens barrel and along the aluminium-alloy mount.
Nikon has also added its Nano Crystal and ARNEO coatings.
The Nikon Z 50mm f/1.2 S price tag is £2,299 / €2,556.74, while the Z 14-24mm f/2.8 S price tag is set for £2,499 / €2,753.49.
The new Nikon Z lenses will be released in autumn/winter 2020, Nikon says.
